The transition to Middle School marks the beginning of a stage of greater maturity and autonomy. At this stage, our students continue their academic development, but also focus on strengthening their identity and cultivating their spirit in a climate of healthy joy, freedom and respect. Mater Salvatoris School is committed to the whole person: we educate the Mind, the Heart and the Spirit.
The academic program during the Middle School years represents a continuation of the development of the skills learned and integrated in the Elementary stage and prepares them for High School. Learning becomes more specialized, with the opportunity to delve deeper into mathematics, science, languages, and humanities, always under a focus that promotes critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork.
At Mater Salvatoris School we are aware of the emotional and social challenges that accompany this stage. Educating feelings and emotions is an essential aspect of human formation. If intelligence is the light of the spirit, the heart is its strength. We form students with hearts capable of being enthusiastic about Truth and Beauty, so that they enjoy doing the Good.
We acknowledge that these years are not always the easiest. It is important that our students are accompanied in this stage of growth, in a safe and caring environment, with all the support they may need. Once a student becomes a part of the school, she is assured that no effort will be spared to help her overcome all difficulties.
Mater Salvatoris School is also committed to friendship. At Mater we work on emotional intelligence, kindness and the art of living together; helping our girls to be happy and to strengthen bonds that last a lifetime. Therefore, we provide comprehensive support through educational activities and a committed teaching team, which accompanies each student in her process of self-knowledge and maturity.
A fundamental objective of Middle School is spiritual formation, understanding that religious practice should not be felt as an external imposition, but as a free and affectionate response to God, who first loved us.
Our students move in an environment in which the relationship with God is lived in a connatural and familiar way. The Middle School years are a pivotal time nurturing this relationship with God and for making the faith they have received as their own. For this reason, Mater Salvatoris School provides students with opportunities to have a personal encounter with Jesus Christ and maintain a personal relationship with Him, through the Liturgy, the frequent celebration of the Eucharist and the sacrament of Reconciliation. We foster a tender devotion to Mary, who under the title of Mater Salvatoris becomes not only Mother but also a model for each student. The lives of the saints are also exemplary role models, since they embody the holiness to which we are called.
